Asian Le Mans Series Partners with TotalEnergies

The Asian Le Mans Series and TotalEnergies are pleased to announce a multi-year partnership to use the same sustainable fuel as the other ACO championships.

All competitors will use TotalEnergies Excellium Racing 100 race fuel that is produced from biomass waste and residue starting with the 2024/25 series which begins in Sepang this December.

This partnership is part of the ACO’s ambitious strategy entitled “Race to 2030”, a goal is to achieve net zero by 2030, cutting its carbon emissions by 30% and developing a carbon offset program.

For the upcoming season the Asian Le Mans Series will use the same race fuel as the FIA World Endurance Championship, European Le Mans Series, Michelin Le Mans Cup and the 24 Hours of Le Mans race.

TotalEnergies Excellium Racing 100 is a racing fuel produced mainly from wine waste and residue (lees and grape pomace) that meets all the demands of automakers, motorists and the European Renewable Energy Directive (RED). It reduces CO₂ emissions by at least 65 % over its life cycle. Certified 100 % sustainable, this fuel was introduced for the first time at the FIA World Endurance Championships (WEC) in March 2022, at the 1,000 Miles of Sebring race (USA) and was used for the entire starting grid. The FIA WEC and the European Le Mans Series have pioneered the use of this type of fuel for all competitors.

Frédéric Lequien, ALMEM and LMEM CEO: “TotalEnergies has stood by us since 2018, making us pioneers with the arrival of an entirely sustainable fuel and allowing us to considerably reduce our carbon footprint during our races. This agreement has now been extended to include the Asian Le Mans Series, which joins the other championships organised by LMEM: the FIA WEC, the European Le Mans Series and the Michelin Le Mans Cup, which all act as open-air laboratories.”

Pierre-Gautier Caloni, VP Motorsport Division- TotalEnergies Marketing Services :  “Having pioneered the way with the ACO and LMEM by supplying Excellium Racing 100 for the FIA World Endurance Championship and the European Le Mans Series, we are delighted to be able to extend the supply of this same fuel to the Asian Le Mans Series from next season. As a multi-energy partner, this will enable us to support LMEM in its ambitions to reduce CO² emissions.”
