The Class structure of the 2026/2027 Asian Le Mans Series will feature a mix of both prototype and GT cars that is synonymous with Le Mans racing. There will be three classes; Hypercar, LMP2 and GT3.
HYPERCAR
The Hypercar class will be seen for the first time in the Asian Le Mans Series during the 2026/27 season. Hypercar is the top-tier in the ALMS, pitting cutting-edge, purpose-built racing prototypes driven by a mixture of professional and amateur drivers for the first time.
The regulations are focused on controlling performance, allowing participants to choose cost-effective solutions since significant expenditure does not necessarily lead to performance gains – a strategy that ensures equality of opportunity across the grid.
Each driver line up must be made up of at least one "Bronze" rated driver.

LMP2
LMP2 is a key part of the Endurance family which allows teams, as well as drivers, to progress to the highest level. The "Le Mans Prototype 2" (LMP2) class is reserved exclusively for privateer teams, independent of constructors and/or engine suppliers.
LMP2 cars have similar characteristics to LMH (carbon monocoque chassis) while respecting strict cost criteria: the price must not exceed €483,000.
In the Asian Le Mans Series and European Le Mans Series all LMP2 cars are equipped with Gibson Technology engines. The 4.2-litre V8 engine, delivers around 600bhp. Cosworth Electronics will be the single electronics supplier. They have a minimum weight of 930kg.
Each driver line up must be made up of at least one "Bronze" rated driver.

These race cars are based on high performance cars that can be used perfectly legally on the open road. The track version must retain a similar shape of the road going version from which is it based.
GT3 cars are defined by a set of FIA regulations designed for use in various racing series throughout the world.
The 2025/2026 Asian Le Mans Series saw 22 GT entries from seven different prestigious vehicle manufacturers battling on track for GT class honours.
Each driver line up must be made up of at least one "Bronze" rated driver.
