Due to ongoing uncertainties in the Middle East, the Asian Le Mans Series now better known as the ‘Winter Le Mans Series’, will also visit Circuito de Jerez in Spain and Portimão in Portugal in early 2027, where the LMP2 trio will fight for championship glory. The United Autosports team are excited to welcome Fayer, McElrea and Jensen to European soil after a competitive IMSA campaign .

Nuvei founder, chairman & CEO, Fayer, who took his first LMP2 victory with the United Autosports USA crew alongside teammates McElrea and Jensen at the Mobil 1 12 Hours of Sebring earlier this year in an iconic one-two finish will compete in Europe for the first time, and the Asian Le Mans Series for a second time, having only started racing again in 2025, after taking time away from the track to focus on other engagements.

Fayer, who earlier this year was also confirmed for the 2027 IMSA season with United Autosports said;  “Extending my partnership with United Autosports was an easy decision. I've learned a lot racing in IMSA, and now I get to put that experience to work in Europe with a team that knows how to win there. I'm excited to see what we can do together.”

IndyCar Reserve Driver, Hunter McElrea will join Fayer in the No.23 Oreca 07 LMP2 who has been Fayer’s co-driver for the duration of the 2026 IMSA season. McElrea’s strong performances over three seasons in IMSA consist of having secured seven podiums and five class wins including two at Indianapolis and two at Road Atlanta.

Completing the line-up is McLaren Hypercar Programme driver, Mikkel Jensen. Jensen joins Fayer and McElrea having competed in the Asian Le Mans Series four times across GT and Prototype cars, most recently in the 2025/26 championship with McLaren Development Driver, Grégoire Saucy and Giorgio Roda.

“Having Phil, Hunter and Mikkel continue with United Autosports into the 2026/27 Asian Le Mans Series is fantastic news for the team” says Richard Dean, United Autosports CEO & Team Principal. “They’ve each made a strong impression during our IMSA programme, both on and off the track, and have become an important part of the United Autosports family.

The Asian Le Mans Series is a highly competitive championship and provides a great opportunity for us to continue that momentum together. We’re looking forward to seeing what this trio can achieve and, hopefully, adding more success to what has already been a very positive relationship.”

In addition to the No.23 driver line-up, United Autosports is set to enter a second car although drivers are yet to be confirmed. With significant interest already generated from a number of established and emerging talents, the team is currently in discussions with several potential candidates as it builds its programme for the upcoming season, and concludes the European Le Mans Series, where the team lead the championship with a thirteen point advantage going in the championship finale, in Portimão.
