Nielsen Racing is entering a single LMP2 in the 2026/27 Asian Le Mans Series, which will exceptionally move to Southern Europe for its new Winter Le Mans Series format due to the ongoing conflict and resulting logistical uncertainty in the Middle East.
Nielsen Racing has been a constant presence in the Asian Le Mans Series since the 2018/19 season, claiming two championships: the LMP3 championship in 2019/20 and the 2022 overall championship scoring maximum points.
The six-race winter calendar will take the team to Paul Ricard in November, Jerez in January and Portimão in February, with two four-hour races at each venue between November 2026 and February 2027.
Ron Hartvelt, Nielsen Racing Team Principal: “Being back in Asian Le Mans is really important for us, both for what we’re doing now and for our plans going forward. We’ve been on the grid for the past nine seasons, since 2018, so it’s a championship that has been a big part of Nielsen Racing’s story, with two championship wins. The move to a winter format in Southern Europe is a great solution that allows the championship to go ahead safely, and we’re looking forward to getting back out there with an LMP2 car and hopefully adding to what we’ve already achieved in the series.”
