FP1: Nielsen Racing Top First Session in Sepang
First 90-minute session completed in Sepang

The first 90-minute practice session of the 4 Hours of Sepang weekend saw the no64 Nielsen Racing Oreca top the time sheets 1.8 seconds ahead of the rest of the field.
Alex Quinn posted a 1m53.362 lap of the 5.543km Sepang International Circuit, 1.829 seconds ahead of the no3 DKR Engineering Oreca after Mathias Beche set a best time of 1m55.191, with Mikkel Jensen third in the no5 United Autosports Oreca with a 1m55.386 lap.
The LMP3 field was headed by the no23Events Racing Ligier, with Road To Le Mans race winner Matteo Quintarelli lapping Sepang in 2m03.051, 0.295s ahead of the no29 Forestier Racing by VPS Ligier-Toyota of Lucio Morano. The no71 23Events Racing was 0.752s behind their teammates, with Matus Ryba posting a 2m03.803 lap.
The Ecurie Ecosse Blackthorn Aston Martin Vantage led the way in the 21 strong GT grid. Kobe Pauwels was the quickest driver in the no56 Aston, the Belgian driver’s time of 2m07.395 was 0.171s ahead of the no74 Kessel Racing Ferrari of Dennis Marschall and 0.211s ahead of the no87 Origine Motorsport Porsche 911, with Hongli Ye posting a 2m07.606 lap.
The second 90-minute Free Practice session will take place at 16h00 (local).
