Championship battles wide open going into the final race!

As the sun sets on the 2023 / 2024 Asian Le Mans Series, the battles for Championship glory are intensifying! The title fight is coming down to the wire in each class.

In LMP2, it is yesterday’s race winner the #4 CrowdStrike Racing by APR Oreca 07 - Gibson (73 points), leading the way by just 3 points from 99 Racing Oreca 07 - Gibson (70 points including the point for pole in today’s race). After the accident yesterday, the 99 Racing team have worked all night to get the car back on track today, but the team starts on pole with CrowdStrike by APR in 5th on the grid. Behind them, but with a big challenge ahead are the #22 Proton Competition on 53 points, the #83 AF Corse on 52 points and the #3 DKR Engineering on 50 points.

The LMP3 battle is all tied up with the #2 CD Sport Ligier JS P320 - Nissan and the #17 COOL Racing Ligier JS P320 - Nissan both on 86 points when the point for pole position for today’s race is awarded to the #17. Whoever finishes the race in a higher position will win the LMP3 Championship.  

In GT there are five cars from four different manufacturers who can still win the title! Leading the way still – even after their race ending accident in yesterday’s race, is the #91 Pure Rxcing Porsche 911 GT3 R on 58 points. They lead by just 9 points over yesterday’s race winner, the #88 Triple Eight Mercedes-AMG GT3 EVO. Behind them is the #7 Al Manar Racing by Getspeed Mercedes-AMG GT3 EVO on 46 points, the #42 Sainteloc Racing Audi R8 LMS GT3 EVO 2 on 45 points, and the #27 Optimum Motorsport McLaren 720S GT3 on 38 points.
