In 1996, the company PROTON Competition was founded by Gerold Ried in Germany, and races in both national and international championships.

The team has competed in everything from FIA GT World Championship, FIA World Endurance Championship, European Le Mans Series, Carrera Cup Germany, IMSA, the Fuji 1000km and the 24 Hours of Le Mans.

For the 2023/2024 season, Proton Competition entered two Oreca 07 Gibson into LMP2 and finished 2nd and 8th.

Back for the 2024/2025 seaston, the team finished 5th and 9th in LMP2 and 15th in GT.

For 2025/2026 Proton Competition will once again enter two Oreca 07 in LMP2 and one Porsche 911 GT3 R in GT.

2023: World Endurance Championship Hypercar (debuted at Monza) and 4th and 14th LMGTE Am, European Le Mans Series 8th LMP2 Pro/Am and 1st 2nd and 11th LMGTE , IMSA 10th GTP, Carrera Cup Germany 6th and 23rd, Porsche Sprint Challenge Suisse 1st OPEN GT class
2024: Asian Le Mans Series 23/24 2nd and 8th LMP2
